Tooling pattern is cool. Both the field and the edge pattern. Well done.

    Last living ACE.

Ya know there was this this pic.

Like 3 feet by 2 feet, framed, black and white. An F-14 at a 90 degree angle to some ocean doing just over mach 1.

Caption read " Speed Is Life "

It used to hang in the lobby / entrance of Top Gun ( NFWS ). The lobby entrance is like 140 feet opening to the roof of the hanger. It hung at about eye level to the first floor about 30 feet up.

Some DUDE ( they think ) spider manned his way out the main beam at the top, repelled down and snatched the mofo. Went back up, got the rope, then snuck off the flight line, and the base, with that framed picture.

That pic, is signed by everyone ( Including Driscoll & Cunningham ) that got a kill since Korea in a Navy fighter.

NIS still believes to this day, Opus somehow snatched the picture.

Wonder what that pic would be worth to a collector????

    As have I......

    20221223_152631.jpg

Although I did not possess the necessary restraint to take the catalog photo before diving in.....

Also, it's perfectly done on top; the shadows from my crappy photography make it look burned....
