What if it Snows?

I reached the age where looking in the mirror is like checking the news. I know there'll be some new developments I won't like.

 

That was a really great idea for a gift , and a even better story to go with it.

 

. I think the young fans don’t watch broadcast tv and nascar couldn’t care less about any other demographic. # real men race in straight lines.

 

In 1993 when my family, and grandparents moved back to ID from the ranch in MT my folks didnt have enough space for all our stuff in the house we moved into. So some of it was stored in the loft above one corner of my Grandpas shop, most of it remained there for 30 years. I was tasked with sorting through most of that stuff while cleaning out the shop this week. Among the items I found worth keeping were these spurs...



I can very vividly remember wearing and using them as a small boy. I showed them to my Mom, and she shared thier story with me.

These were given to me by her Grandfather, my Great Grandpa, when I was born. Great Grandpa passed away when I was 6, but I still remember him. He was a giant of a man.

These spurs will now become a decorative piece in my home... And belong to my son's.

 

That’s why I’m at the Indy race.

 

Your sons gonna have some big boot to fill to maintain the family line.... Just saying...

 

They dont even have a clue... My Grandpa had 3 sons, of those sons my Dad was the only one to sire a son. I am the only Grandson by blood AND name... My son's are the only males in my Grandpa's line left to carry on the family name. When they are older I will instill in them the importance of that Duty... Of that Honor.
