One thing I learned about the internet is that there is no shortage of good advice when you aggregate this amount of experience on to one page.

I made the decision to turn down the factory work. I mean, it's stable work and the benefits are good. It's also a crime not to try their dining facility.

But the reality is this. I can't imagine pulling a lever and pushing a button all day. Then a a Michelin tire comes out at the end of the factory line. It's not a good tire. It's not even one that I would mount on my own cars.

But we can argue the quality later on. But the job was not for me.

Again. I take your guys opinions extremely seriously. I do this to a point when I will turn down employment based on what is said here. And I have done so last night. The decision felt good. I will unfortunately miss out on their dining facility. But I will go back to driving

I get 40 hours of guaranteed compensation. Cement work in the south is year around with no layoffs. In the history of ever. So I was told.

Again. I want to thank you guys for crowd sourcing your advice. I absolutely take you serious. My old company collapsed and I need to rebuild my life somehow. My life compass doesn't always work. But there are enough of you on here that can tilt my needle in the right position.

    Thank you.

I can't fault you on the factory job monotony. I had a good paying job right after high school at a place producing carbon fiber. Starting wage was $15/hr when the minimum was $5.15, and in Central Texas most jobs didn't pay more than 7-8. Anyways after 3 days of watching spools of fiber going through ovens and cleansing solutions I couldn't handle it anymore.

Hope the cement job treats you right.

The OM woke up about 45 minutes ago. This means I woke up about 45 minutes ago.

Apparently there was an empty dish and ravenous Tabby hunger.

Now it's been purring as a coffee grinder for 35 minutes.

House boss seems out of sorts he left me sleep until the bladder wake up. He usually will notify me of the empty dish with great enthusiasm. I’m thinking my bride being absent has him upset.

Apparently The Fujiwhara Effect is going to take place, and two hurritains are going to merge over Georgia.
