Ma Nature won’t have it — those that get along with her might live to tell the story— those that arrogant enough to think they can beat her won’t

Last one I saw in tatters was South of Holly Springs, MS, on old 2 lane US78 on a fairly long bridge. They ran out of Haleyville, AL, and considered their permits to be carte blanche for their desires.
One of Mr. Flick Ash's gravel dump truck drivers did not bluff. Like he told the investigating officers: "I was full length on the bridge when he just come on in to run over me. Believe he was a little light for the job."
An old R model Mack, a 24' Palmer dump. (machine shop made in Amory), fully loaded with gravel. Had those custom 2x10 boards up on top of the sides to keep the mound smoothly rounded. Driver side mirror, two clearance lights left side and some scraped paint was his damage. Mobile home looked as if a scythe had took a 2 foot bite (and all appurtenances thereto ) out of the road side above the floor line.
Flick's trucks run like Ferguson Bros out of Greenwood. wide open and usually 3 or 4 deep...
The little1954 F600 Fords, log/bolster trailer and a wooden knocked together with barn door hardware bed. Only brakes were the vac booster hydraulic on the truck. Only lights were OEM on the tractor, as they only ran in daytime. Moved half of the red dirt out of Leflore county to build up both sides and 4 lane the 9 miles from Leland into Greenville in 53-54.

My thoughts exactly. Already starting on a lower key. Media not fully reporting it. Just read your city police reports.
