A while back I wanted 7 foot of 1/2 inch heater hose at Autozone (My first mistake) The guy behind the counter brought out a package with 6 foot of it and a 1 foot piece, no connectors, nothing. I just walked out.

Developed a axle seal leak on the Dodge Ram 4x4. Called my regular mechanic for a price. Wife wanted to drive it. Ask mechanic he said no problem. I told her not a good idea. I don't think he knows his ####. She drove it. Got fluid all under the under carriage. SMH

I worked in downtown Seattle in the late 80s. There was a woman dressed in ancient clothes who always looked like she was moments from crying who stood around on different sidewalks with a raggedy cardboard sign that said she had 3 kids to feed. She would be somewhere along my route most mornings. Sometimes I would see her during the lunch hour when the tourists were walking around, once in a while at quitting time. One time I saw her outside the playhouse at night when crowds were coming out of Les Miserables.
Anyway, I saw her so often over the course of a year or two that I figured it was just her job. Then one night I was driving through Capitol Hill (not far from where the "CHAZ" was set up 30 years later) and saw her walking down the street. She was dressed to the nines, walking with a well-dressed man, laughing, carrying what looked like the remains of a fine meal from one of the many restaurants near there.
The ones I see living in tents and broke down RVs might be really hurting for whatever reason. But I'm always suspicious of those with sad cardboard signs at the busiest intersections.dwells40, IH9300SBA, austinmike and 10 others Thank this. -
Some that I've seen don't look like they can still move to another place though. Plywood windows, tarp additions, etc. Certainly not a life I'd want to live, but a step up from a tent nevertheless.IH9300SBA, austinmike, JoeyJunk and 8 others Thank this.

55 degrees at the bachelor pad this morning and it’s damp. The dew point is 54 but I’m comfortable on the front porch watching traffic sipping coffee. When the orb makes an appearance I’ll have to go inside and get dressed and start the day.

We agree with that. I've said for decades how easily a seemingly normal person could fall into a very tough life.
Fall being the key word. Typically something, alcohol, dope, gambling precipitates the way.MAMservices, Bud A., austinmike and 9 others Thank this. -

Substitute pork chops or hamburger for elk— don’t take a culinary genius to hack up some taters and onions and burn some meat in the fry pan— it’s the clean up that sucks77fib77, Dale thompson, dwells40 and 11 others Thank this.
