MO has the second most caves, only behind TN, so there is that, not to mention temps stay very constant below ground. I believe many around KC metro were originally used by Dept of Defense during the Cold War. I know of one in MO that came to be after the quarry was finished mining, so they are essentially being repurposed.

 

I guess so, though I never heard of it till just now when I googled it.
