First, she was with you in the moment, as to what you were saying, just could not tell you what was done/said 20 minutes later.
So I would visit; talk with her, ask if she would like to talk to daughter or son by name, to get here in sync. Then dial them on my cell phone and let her chat.
For the length of call, have a nice conversation of we are fine, weather is good, hope you are enjoying you living there...
I like to believe she is in heaven; memory restored, and has met with her husband who preceded her several years ago.

It won't pass, but carriers just need to pull completely out of the entire west coast. Let them figure out how to ship/receive their own freight. They're completely out-of-touch with reality and tend to get BS mandates started that effect the rest of us.
