I believe you're right, never noticed all the IH's taking their 30 in the fuel island.

 

Fence got more posts then running feet of bob warh.... Daddy would not have put up with that. Doze it down, set posts on 8 feet, 48" hogwire with 2 barbs on top. If any hogs or other rooter/crawlers, 1 strand of barbed on the bottom....Built, braced, gates hung. Our livestock stayed home.

 

With all due respect: them guys were inside, eating, showering, phoning, or waylaying the waitress. Some hand was out there pumping, primping the lights and glass. Checking and adding your oil if you told him to. Like fill it up or (put 30 in the right), or if oil needed, (oil under the right sleeper door.)
Understood was tire bumping and any flat/near flats was told to you at your table.
Edgar and I run so regular Columbus to LA/Frisco, our regular stops knew all this. And most of them would pull it away and park.
A pistol or wallet lying on the doghouse was as safe at these stops as if in a Baptist Church on a Monday morning.

Still run 63 a lot through there, now they got Hardy bypass not as bad. A few passing lanes now.
You’ll still run behind a truck running 30-40.
