Stopped at an indigenous Love's in Tejas. Dude who took my money for the snack I bought looked familiar. Then I remembered, oh yeah, I had some kind of mechanical work done here one time, maybe a year ago, and he was working in the shop. Then I remembered that he was the guy who told me back then about the stolen Swift bobtail that roared through the parking lot while being chased by the fuzz and rammed six other trucks that were parked.

I'm parked way on the other side of the lot.

My niece worked at an Outback starting in high school. She ended up working as a bartender and would clear $500 a night in tips. Thankfully she's studying to become a nurse now so I won't have to have the conversation about how that tip money is going to dry up when she's ten years older.

My FIL won't go to that place any more because when the new franchisee took over, he started buying cheaper beef and it was very noticeable. Whenever he thinks of it (usually if we're driving past), he'll tell the story again and then say, You'd think the corporation would send people around to make sure they're maintaining corporate standards.

I bought these steaks Saturday for my mom and dad to come over and celebrate Mother's Day. They are prime ribeye from a meat market at $26 a pound. However the quality is so much better that you can almost cut it with a fork.

There is a big difference between grocery stores and meat markets for sure. I would have to go to a pretty nice steakhouse to get a cut of meat like this and then it would be close to $40 a dinner.

That's exactly what I told mom about a couple other outfits. You have good luck with someplace then all of a sudden you get a crappy one. That earns em a spot on my shat list. Mom thinks I'm being unreasonable. I think not.
