The Barb of the Rhu is out of the oven. It's got enough sugar in it to overload a class of 4th graders.

Before I moved over to where I am, lived on the Independent Living Wing and had a kitchen.
We used to make things like this on the Saturday when they did not feed us. Group made some good stuff...
Irish Stew recipe
1 lb. beef stew meat
2 tbsp oil
3 tbsp flour
½ tsp salt, pepper
Heat oil in skillet. Mix flour, salt, pepper in a mixture. Cook meat in hot oil until brown, being sure not to overcrowd skillet (cook in batches if necessary). Place in slow cooker.
Then.....
4 cups beef broth
(1) Savory Pot Roast packet + ½ cup water
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp minced garlic
Mix together and pour over meat in slow cooker.
Then.......
3 cups potatoes, chopped to ½ inch
1 bag sliced carrots (add more if you think you need them)
1 pkg GV Seasoning Blend
1 pkg mixed vegetables
Add to slow cooker and cook on high 5 hours.
Mix together 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cool water to make a slurry and stir into cooker after 5 hours. Leave top off but continue cooking on high for 15-30 minutes until stew is thickened.
This is what it made....

I recall the millionaire (8) owner of Gulf Finance Co; when I worked for him, telling me: "Roger, you will never go broke putting money in your pocket."
