I got asked that once. An Arkansas state trooper that I went to school with, when I was in my pickup with tented windows, dark but legal.
He was sitting stopped at a 4 way stop sign. I came up, stopped, he motioned for me to go, I did.
He stopped me right passed it, said, “Youse know why I stopped you?” I say ‘Sure wasn’t for speeding or running a stop sign.’
He say ‘you not wearing seatbelt, I say you can’t see that sitting in your car, looking up and into this pickup. He said he had specially trained eyes. I asked why stop me, this was when that wasn’t as bad as today, so he wrote a $25 ticket, made a u turn infront of a semi who hadn’t noticed the stop sign in middle of nowhere, and almost got T boned. All in the name of safety.
