Retirement isn't that tough.....friendly actually. You just have to set a goal and work towards it while you're still working.
I would say that one of those goals is getting rid of stuff you don't need or use anymore. Second thing is don't owe money to anyone for any reason.

We (The Hazul) and I have a very comfortable Retirement. We live in a nice little house and don't owe anyone a dime. And with our combined social security, I'm actually able to put away $1000 a month. We never miss a meal and if one of the boys needed to see us, we could saddle up at the drop of a hat and rent a room at the Holiday Inn when we got there. It's not that tough, it's just a matter of sorting out what you need, what you don't need, and what it costs.
One last thing, and as an illustration. 2 years ago I bought a Ford.....can't remember exactly what it's called, but it's like a mini SUV. In the 2 years I've had it, I've put less than 5,000 miles on it.....most of them going to see @JolliRoger. So, obviously it doesn't get driven.....so I'm going to sell it.....I don't need it and I don't need to pay insurance and tags on something that's sitting in my driveway.
You just have to sort it out sometimes.
(BTW @JolliRoger The Hazul sez 'hey').

All the truth— especially the not owing anybody anything— the big question (fear) in my mind is what the F do you do with yourself— tried it a couple years ago and made it 10 days so obviously I do not have the correct mindset

Hell yeah it does. Certain point there’s just to much talking. Not enough action.
