I wasn't going to say anything but I only liked listening to her when I was high. Haven't been that way since middle 80's.

Not saying I was smart enough to ride them either, I just never quit riding them. The older I get the more I worry about someone hitting me . Wife and I only rarely get on the interstate any more when we're on the bike.

Nah - chuck it on the scrap pile, or biff it at the scale house window on yer way through.

The cast iron cookware thing has become an overpriced nostalgia idea in my stupid opinion. I have healthy grip strength, but my wife not so much.

It’s just a hunk of iron that burns food if not tended to - and adds little to the flavor of food to me - a task that can be handled by better cookware, with better results.

OK - so I may have a semi questionable relationship with the resident food snob here, and I did reluctantly drop $350 on a set of his recommended’ScanPan’ - and couldn’t be happier.

Cleans up in an instant, requires less heat, will last the rest of my appreciable life , distributes heat evenly and quickly. Relegate your Lodge metal bricks to oil catchers. Or strain your arm muscles, and spend a half hour cleaning and oiling so you can nostalgically recall your grandmother telling you that life is change.

I have to agree with you. The cast iron in my kitchen has found its way into my camping gear
My loving wife got me a set of All Clad pans a few years ago. They are fantastic. Heavy enough to not lose heat on a sear, light enough to deal with.
This pan is 3 years old

Thank you for that. This big one is plenty heavy Probly one reason I quit using it.
My dear Great grandmother had one like it and it was all she could do to lift it as she had Arthuritis in her hands real bad. I'm gonna clean this one up and may give it' to the orphanage.
