Well in 1988 when a young man off a reservation in Arizona shared some with me he had done it many times after his grandmother let out the secret when he was a pimply faced kid. It was a traditional method of drying up the skin. To be taken with plenty of water and under supervision. Fast forward 10 years he and I survived an evening in a car parked under the copper mine tailings in Globe Arizona.
It will dry your eyes out so much that you go temporarily blind if you aren't prepared with water or other hydration.

Unfortunately, right now I'm on the ITR/OHTpk/NYThruway leg of the Triangle Of Pain, eastbound toward "commie annex east".

 

Everything has some risk. But we've become so drug paranoid for everything except booze that it's stupid. Datura has been used for thousands of years. By adults. Of groups who didn't crave drama because life then was scary enough. They used experience and respect. Nowadays the people the doctors are going to see are silly 18 year old boys who took 10x too much. So it's fatal.
So is water under those circumstances.
