What is the dumbest thing you've seen a driver

Not sure if was THE stupidest thing I saw out there, but a mile or so west of the Pilot in Mountain Home, ID, winter of '98, an Interstate driver tried to hang a u-turn on I-84 by crossing the median. The trailer got stuck in mud/snow up to the hubs, and when I passed by there was a wrecker and a couple of highway patrol cars and the officers were having a very animated conversation with the driver--it was cold and all, but I don't think that's why they were waving their arms. The driver got absolutely no sympathy on the CB. Talk about professional embarassment.

 

Lack of courtesy! Many people think they are the only people in this world and act accordingly. Isn't that called narcissism? That's all you new drivers are going to hear from the old guys as their cutting you off, they think they are entitled. What the newer drivers lack in experience most, not all, but most make up for with courtesy. Then after a few years you'll be the same way and the cycle continues forever.

Pretty much anything a Chicago area driver does on a daily basis.

 

Iwas goin thru TN a few years ago. There was a bad crash the opposite direction, and they shut the road down in fron of me to land a lifeflight chopper on it. A school bus full of kids attempted a u-turn and got stuck in the mud. Its get a lot owrse though. Few minutes later a bunch of high school kids get out and go behind the bus and start pushing while the driver attempts to get out!!!Highway patrol coming up the shoulder stopped them immediately and the kids got back on the bus. I bet that guys not driving bus anymore lol

Driving to where I work now. I have not started trucking school yet. But I seen a 18 Wheeler stuck in fresh poured Black Top. He drove right into it avoiding the signs, and cones. He sank into the Black Top about 2-3 feet. His wheels was gone, the truck bottom was sitting right above the black top.

 

That sounds like one of those stories that's been told too many times on the CB. It's impossible to sink 2 to 3 feet in any asphalt operation unless they dug a hole for trash or something. When they lay asphalt down it's usually put down in only 2 to 4 inches. You can go to 6 inches but you may have problems compacting the road.

 

Pay for a school without checking all the possibilities. Or paying for school and have a bad driving record then acting surprised when no one will hire them. How about the one that does no checking when in school and listens 100% to the instructor and recruiters? Those are dumb moves but unfortunately done all the time.

 

next time the storey will be told--it will be just the exhaust stack sticking out of asphalt
