I was at the pilot in Jackson, tn. sitting next to a jct truck, driver got out locked his door started to walk around the front of the truck and it started rolling forward. he did not realize it untill it almost hit him then he is running alongside the truck trying to open the locked door, lucky it was not parked across from any other trucks. it rolled all the way across the parking lot jumped the curb and came to a stop on some grass, all the while the driver running/hopping along next to the truck trying to get his keys out and open the door. the best part was at one point he tried to grab the truck and stop it himself.
Wedge and wulfsbergvw Thank this. -

wimps, when I was a junior in HS, I spent a week as a HS student leader at an outdoor lab. school, on the way back, our bus driver had to put chains on the school bus (no auto chains), he needed an extra pair of hands, none of the teachers (3 and they were all female) could help him so I had to. Crawled under the bus to hook the chains, ended up catching I nasty cold from being soaked to the skin in snow/slush. The driver kept his job and the school district paid for my medical care. -
Years before I ever thought of driving I saw a guy pull forward and watched the front of his trailer smack the ground, even then I thought that was odd...Since I had no idea what he was doing I don't know if he was dropping it off or thought he hooked it up...

Walstib, some drivers think it's funny to pull someones kingpin when they aren't looking. Especially the ones that are disgruntled at that particular company. Something to keep an eye out for.
As for dumb crap done by drivers, I saw a driver back over the cliff and flip down onto the interstate at the pilot in Needles, CA. Some of you may know this truck stop. Actually I don't know for sure if he over backed or if he didn't set his brakes. Either way he got a pink slip!
I also saw three swift trucks all crash into each other and two of them went over the side of a hill in Wyo. Kind of funny they were all the same company. Good example of why not to convoy in the ice and snow "good buddy"!
I also saw a driver get stuck in the truck stop parking lot in the ice and snow and had to get a tow truck to pull him out. Right after pulling him out I watched another back right into the same spot. The tow truck hadn't even left the parking lot yet!
