If the truck's exhaust did that properly they wouldn't be in the shop so much.

I went from a 07 Freightliner Century to a 17 Freightliner Cascadia and it is so much quieter. I just love a quiet truck. You just feel better at the end of the day. Loud trucks make me irritable.

I remember having a few of the 07 Columbia day cabs where I used to work and realizing how loud they were compared to our 2013 to 2017 Cascadia day cabs. When I moved to otr my 16 Pete 589 was significantly quieter than the Cascadia which were already pretty quiet. And when I got my 2020 ultra loft it was an order of magnitude quieter than my 2020. The sound levels in the new trucks are at near car like levels with the windows up. Gone were the days when you needed the expensive noise-canceling blue tooth headset with extra loud volume, so you could just barely hear. Now you can leave your phone in the holder and use the speakerphone option, and you can have a conversation over the phone like a normal person. Pretty much any of the new trucks will be much quieter than your 07 and the ones with good aero and insulation will be quieter yet.

Yes but isn't most of this stuff closed cell, or like that 'Great Stuff' in a can you get from Home Depot? I don't know much about it but it seems like everyone would do it if it worked, and no OEM's use it on the outside. Even if it didn't hold water it seems like it might hold enough moisture to cause big problems.

You can get the self spray kits in open or closed cell foam from what I see. Might be worth a call to one of the big sleeper makers to ask them what they use and how? I will post if I get an answer.
Hey @blairandgretchen does your sleeper have the spray foam under the bunk like this? Screenshot_20210219-184812_YouTube.jpg

If you want any truck quieter go to a car audio store. Buy dynamite extreme (silver backed). Buy a roller and heat gun to install it. Clean everything with rubbing alcohol. Pull out the seats, flooring, and door panels. Apply 1-2 layers. You’ll have kittens at how much quieter it is. Drive it for a few weeks or months. Find the louder parts you missed and do it again. Make sure you add the scrap pieces to existing plastic pieces around the dash and A frame. You can do the headliner as well. Eventually you’ll realize that the seals around the windows and that they’re single pane is your noise source.

science note. You’re adding mass which lowers the resonate frequency. That’s why it gets quieter, you can’t hear it below 20Hz. Spray foam will cause rust and it will shrink and then squeak like a mother. Just do it right the first time.

    My truck is quiet inside.
