If it’s a problem, why not just confirm your appointment with the receiver or shipper directly? Or can you not do that anymore if you work for a big company? If not, I’m glad I don’t work for one. Methinks Humblepie has this one nailed, so let’s move on to something else.
Ever consider just manning up and admitting a problem exists instead of making desperate excuses? And you call me dramatic. Did it ever occur to you that many companies will not speak to drivers, or that dispatchers should not constantly lie? Nooooo, it's the drivers responsibility to babysit them and do their jobs for free on top of ours. Great solution. And the real issue here is not really the appointments, but how dangerous it is to try and force sleep deprived drivers to drive when they can barely sit up. Seriously, with this attitude it's no wonder nothing gets fixed in trucking. Dispatcher's can just point to boot lickers like yourself as proof no problems exist and so nothing ever gets done about it.
Boot lickers? I don't think so. Just because you had trouble adapting to a system that most people have been able to overcome doesn't mean that they're the problem. Dial it down a notch. Insulting other members just because you don't agree with them isn't the way to go.
I am on the fence with this one. I already let him rub me the wrong way twice with his words and overall... posture. I'll put him on my famous list and forget I saw this fella. It will be a problem if I let it become one all day long with this one. But no. Not today, not ever. Hes managed to create trouble on 4 separate vectors and a part of me wants him. The other part remembers that we don't want that kind of trouble here.
Maybe you wouldn’t be so tired if you weren’t carrying that huge chip on your shoulder. Must be really tiring being the lone fighter for justice.
Didn’t Elogs all but eliminate the ability to force drivers to drive tired? What are drivers charging to babysit these days? Daycare is going up on the rates again, I’m looking at options.
Drove 12 hours all night. Got to the terminal in the morning. Safety department has us sit for 9 hrs in a Professional Driver Improvement course. After sitting in class all day they give us our evening dispatches and expect us to drive all night.
