Did he discuss this with the recruiter? Maybe something can be arranged while doing the paperwork during orientation.

I guess from speaking with him a while ago that the recruiter basically told him there was no need in coming to orientation if he could not read everything. Which he maybe able to but he does not want to go if he does not know for sure. I guess he will be stuck at the same place he is at bringing home 300.00 a week because of it. I mean he passed his Cdl test without assistance other then it reading it for him which there were lots of guys I heard do that. So frustrating

Ask the recruiter to send over the docs thru email or a few and see if they will to see if he can read them.
-
Why don't you go with him? This affects you as well as him.

Im sure there are better qualified to answer this but dont Prime have to make reasonable accomindation for him u der the disabilites act.

If he can't read too well how will he be able to read directions to his destinations ? This is critical because if he makes a wrong turn in a city like NY or Philly ,etc. he'll be in a lot of trouble. Can he read and comprehend maps in detail as well ?

And another question would be how well he can understand filling out a logbook. One small error can cost you thousands of dollars in fines. Both from the state and federal regulators. And using e-logs can be even more stressful for some one with ADHD or Dyslexia.
You may find most mega carriers won't touch someone with even moderate learning disabilities. And i believe they are exempt from some ADA laws as this jobs is considered a safety intensive. -
I hope i dony come across as mean. But, if your husband has a learning disability then he probably shouldn't be going to a company that is notorious for screwing people over. He also shouldnt be trying to lease op or owner op. Stick with company driving.
