By the way, "Sergio" cracked me up, and my brother who pulls tankers. He then proceeded to give me a nice lecture on how to take ramps when pulling liquid, etc.

I agree, it is the time to start tanking. Everything is easy this time of year, and like you say, probably at least 6 months (and maybe even 8 or 9 months) until we get snow again. It's all fun and games until the roads get icy.

This is the only way to work. I don't know why any drivers accept anything less. Who cares if there's a legal loophole allowing the company to not pay OT? Just because something is legal doesn't make it right.

That's because there are far too many guys that will take an inferior wage to drive a nice truck or will proudly state ,"thats just trucking. If you want to be paid for everything you do, go flip burgers" or something akin to that

Getting paid per load, not being an O/O pays rather well, also. I'm way over the minimum wage this way, too. WAY over. Wouldn't do cpm again. Did my due diligence years back.

Got back from a run to KCMO at 0400 this morning, and thankfully had the day off today. I'm supposed to run out with someone else tomorrow to learn more about pumping, but not sure of details yet. I have a feeling I might get a truck as early as tomorrow or Friday, but maybe it will be early next week. We'll see. What's yer name over there, btw? Having a hard time figuring it out.
