For future reference drivers......spray your doors with alcohol if you foresee frigid conditions somewhere on your route. Spray the door handle, latches, the key, and slide it into the hole.

Not entirely sure how you abuse a door latch to make it stop working...sounds like she's making excuses to find a way to get someone else to pay for a repair.

Tb0n3, Rugerfan, mjd4277 and 4 others Thank this.

Just move on a forget all about them. Don't even give two weeks. Just turn the truck in and call the labor board. The employer can't hold your wages for any reason.

Even if you intentionally damaged something they can't hold your wages. The only exception to this is IF you signed something agreeing to it. Otherwise, your dirtbag employer is beat.

    Or if its court ordered.

I have to give you credit. Not many people know this. People are shocked to find out that not only can your employer NOT withhold your wages for any reason other than court ordered (i.e. alimony) or agreed to (a xmas fund or deduction to send to a family member) even if you intentionally destroy their equipment they CANNOT hold you liable. They can sue you in court and a JUDGE can hold you liable. But THAT IS IT.

My current company sent out a message on the qualcomm saying that they have determined blowouts are caused by excessive speed and if we blow out a tire and they see we were going 75 or above, WE will have to pay for the tire. I already talked to one driver. He said I have a lawyer on speed dial and I told them they better not try to take MY money because they put these cheap ### recaps on these trailers.

Unfortunately she thinks that she can and thinks im a fool, well i know my rights as an employee. I have not signed ANYTHING saying i would reimburse for damages, intentional or otherwise. I guess i will be taking her to small claims court to recoup my money

It's been said multiple times...call your LABOR BOARD. No need to go any other route.
