I have 7 months OTR
Location in east Tennessee near Knox
after a lot of research it seems line haul is the way to go, paid more and home more than OTR.
Who hires with say 6+ months experience?
Not looking to get some .30CPM bs tho, I can get more than .40 already if I keep on OTR.
Thanks
what LTL linehaul companies hire with little experience?

Be patient for 5 months, then try Old Dominion, congratulations on your enlightenment

yeah I don't understand it though
linehaul is you drive to a terminal and back
pretty easy
OTR god knows where you'll be sent, dealing with crazy tiny roads in cities trying to figure out where to go, backing in the Detroit "docks" and always waiting forever to get loaded and unloaded (which you're not paid for), living in a truck and truck stops and yet you make tops what .45CPM and paid for nothing else to do (or wait) pretty much.
So many of these linehaul companies pay over .50CPM plus your health insurance and pension, plus you're home more.
Not much to think about. -
Free health insurance for me working for USF Reddaway which is Usf Holland or New Penn in your area. We're paid to wait, fuel, and drop & hook. Took me 5 yrs of Otr to realize that atleast you've figured it our early. Good luck.

Had a "billy big rigger" tell me the other day that there was "NO WAY" he'd "ever do that job because NOBODY" was gonna tell him when he could drive. I'm surprised by that mentality. Most LTL and delivery outfits will tell you when to be at work or supply you with a schedule. It's then your job to show up on time and keep the freight moving. Simple concept to me...
