As I walk around a truckstop, I see many models of the same truck. I talk to other drivers about their trucks and they mention " I have the pete 387 out there". Is there a way to tell what model a truck is from the outside? Also what would a 4 1/2 be about. Some guy was saying his truck has this and that and a 4 1/2 as if I knew what he was talking about.
Thanks!![]()
what model is that truck?

You just kind of learn them after awhile. I remember in October of 1996 seeing my first Kenworth T2000 riding along I-44 in Tulsa. Man that was a good looking truck, the first of the aerodynamic era. I sure was fascinated with trucks back then. Then I started driving one and man what was I thinking? Oh I love trucking but I hate trucking. You'll understand someday.
Here's a good place to start, if you like looking at trucks.

the driver that said his rig had a 4 1/2 was probly talking about the horse power of the engine. I.E. 450 horse power most of the time they will say the type of engine. cat, cummins. ect......
