I've seen Alaska loads for 15k,bounce back empty.Normal price was 28k round trip a few years ago.Regular freight though.
Our teams on an ammo run would get paid a lot more, company drivers.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Used to work for a company who had dedicated tanks, I’d loading NC bring to west memphis, and relay with a guy that would go from west Memphis at to sparks , nv, they’d unload and he brought empty tank back, was lil over 2,000 miles paid 8000 to truck.
That was your truck, their trailer

Why wouldnt u do it again? Plenty of specialized companies have as much dh miles as loaded miles. As long as u quote a reasonable round trip rate . Its perfectly ok... I used to have a regular gig that was based on round trip for 400 miles and we also had some backhauls to get back as well.... A guy can make some good money doing stuff like that.

With your equipment and team you'll see it again.
A friend went from Texas to Quantico empty, picked up a load for San Diego, had to drive it by himself only stop for fuel.He never saw what they loaded.
    This was many years ago.

I've done similar many times, but as a hazmat tanker company driver. My pay was the same, loaded & empty.

    Deere hunter Thanks this.
