I like to jump freeway overpass' like that Chevy Tahoe did in that video the other day. :p :D

Seriously, for me, I'd run 3 over, with another 3 mph cushion.
I'm in La so, 73... 76 when need to get around somebody.
I run Texas a lot so 78... 81 when I need to get around somebody. That won't usually be very often, but if I need it, it's there.

I was a company driver, with a day cab for the vast majority of my career, that said, was running up against the log book, or eld. So standard operating procedure for me was get back to yard as quickly as reasonably possible. No hanging around in truck stops, adult book stores, peep shows, no massage parlors, lot lizards, etc. Depending on the State, I was at least 5-7 mph above posted. Easy in the city, run hard as possible on the open road, and depending on the truck I had for that shift, it may flat to the floor all nite.

My 03 FLD pre emissions series 60 @ 575hp stays in the right lane @ 64 with the stereo crankin or a good audio book in. Been that way for past 20 years. UNLESS some jack ### needs to be shown something….

I generally drive 68-69. Seems like I'm more or less running the same speed as a majority of trucks around me (eastern states).

However, when I get in my personal drive 68-69 seems like I'm getting runover by flying semis all day long. It's weird. I've never figured it out.

Normally set the cruise on 73 and just ride. Until you get some jack wagon getting in the way then I'll bump it up 80 for a few miles just to get away from them.

I'd run 70 mph only because the truck wouldn't go any faster.

My truck seems content at about 67. Smooth, steady, low stress. Lower than that and she seems sluggish, faster seems jittery and have to come out of it frequently. Due to the nature of what we haul I'm at 3 over most of the time, but when the time pressure is off, I'm typically at 67.

I've been in a 68mph truck at a couple different carriers. It is the perfect speed to get harassed by every box truck and Amazon Prime truck that's scrolling TikTok while driving. The perfect speed for the 'doing' the speed limit folks to day dream and fall below just to speed back up if you get tired of following and go to pass. Besides that, it's a good balance of being able to pass most Megas while not catching yourself in a ton of clusterf***s.

When I was in an ungoverned truck running 70-74 most of the time, the middle lane campers and constant passing made it to where I hardly averaged much faster than I do governed at 68. In the plains states and out west, ungoverned is the way to go though.

I do 65. I also am restricted on time. Imagine starting the day, 18 miles behind a 60mph average. Got 11 hours to get there. Have to do it.
I did have some trucks governed high. Would run 72-73. Average 70. Was surprised how many contentious drivers there are out there. Pass them slowly. They speed up. I'd blow them away. I ain't playing games with them.
