I have a valid 2 year DOT certificate from a registered clinic, I'm thin BMI 24 but my Blood pressure some time ticks ups above 160 when I get nervous
I don't care about drug testing since I have never used drugs, but just would like to avoid a Blood pressure check on a company CDL shool.

    thanks

I doubt you are going to be able to avoid that. You need to get that under control for your health. No Im not judging, Im diabetic.

Maybe @Chinatown would have an idea.

The cutoff for a DOT Medical is 140/90. Why not just go see your Dr, get the meds and take care of your health? If it is 160 or above you have Stage 2 Hypertension, which generally means 2 different Meds. There is a reason they call it the silent killer. I have Hypertension, take 2 different Meds, I only have a 1 year card, have had since they changed the Reg's. Going in every other, or once a year to me is about the same, and the Meds are less than $25 for a 3 months supply.

Are you on BP meds? If so, take 2 before the physical.

HBP is triggered by the flight or fight response and is dangerous to the fat and obese because fat blocks the regular flow of blood t and very old people with frail arteries

I'm a very fit guy I got a high reading despite that I was given a 2 year DOT, but would not like to take my chances traveling to a company and getting rejected.

Take a Valium before going for you physical. You'll be so calm and your BP will be just right.

Seriously though, although it don't sound serious, it may be. I'd see your doctor before going too much further. But I'd say with a BMI of 24, most reasonable doctors doing a routine physical for DOT purposes would love you. Have you seen some of us drivers???

You probably have "white coat syndrome" which is ; "In studies, white coat hypertension can be defined as the presence of a defined hypertensive average blood pressure in a clinic setting, although it isn't present when the patient is at home."

These don't require another physical. I'd recommend checking the threads specific to these companies and ask drivers there about the blood pressure test. Some only do drug testing and some may also check blood pressure.
Freymiller - ask @Ssand Man because maybe he's one that didn't have to do a complete physical.

Driver, when you neglect your health, or look for 'get-arounds' you jeopardize everybody else's health you share the road with. Go to your doctor or walk-in clinic, get the Metoprolol and Lisinopril, get your BP under control and feel better, and be safer, all the way around. This is one career field where there are a lot more lives at stake than just your own.

I'm a big, big guy. I have high blood pressure. I take one little pill, its perfect all day. Even though all my other things to watch out for are fine (Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Blood Sugar, etc), HBP is still something to worry about on its own. Suck it up and get the 1 year card and get on some meds to control it. Try stress relief exercises (Read: Yoga) to attempt to bring it down.
