hello my fellow truckers , i have a simple question everyone , what would you guys like to get from a broker ?

example : i would like for my broker / dispatcher to remind me of oil changes and any other regular maintenance i need to get done
i would love my dispatch / broker to file or update , maintain my permits or help me get them like
    DOC-3 or BMC-91.

the reason i ask , i would really like to know would be going the extra miles for you hard workers and what will make you stay ?

    thank you

I'm really not sure who will have a straight answer to this question lol. I'm not sure how this can even be answered. Seeing how the broker and company have absolutely nothing besides load confirmation to do with each other.

I know what you want and I also know what you'll never get. And that is what you want lol

For brokers, an optional SMS txt message system or a smartphone app like Coyote uses. I keep begging my company to use txt messages for our back haul loads so we don't miss their call, but they haven't got one yet.

What would make me stay is a dispatcher who is flexible like drivers are suppose to be to their wants and needs.

Sure, this is for the drivers who very rarely wanna take any time off not for the slackers. For example if a driver is sick leave it at that rather then saying we really need you to deliver this load and a hundred other popular lines dispatchers use.If you're too tired like from running too hard or just couldn't sleep let the driver tell the dispatcher when hes ready to roll and dispatch is fine with that.If the driver needs to get home due to a family emergency dispatch should do everything possible ASAP to get that driver home not when he feels like it then soon forgets the drivers request.Dispatch and company should take notice how flexible and easy some drivers are to work with and they the company/dispatch should be just as flexible.Maybe they would be able to keep a lot of happy drivers as well as more productivity.

The best dispatcher I ever had was flexible regarding her drivers loads. As long as she kept the out of route miles acceptable, she would have her drivers swapping loads all the time (at their request). She was able to keep drivers moving, and in an area of the country they preferred to run in. And her drivers were VERY loyal, and would bust their collective hiney to help her in return. We had an agreement when I was 1st assigned to her...be honest and don't sugar coat or beat around the bush when you have bad news. I know freight sucks sometimes and I will take my share of the crappy loads and not complain, just as long as I get my share of the decent loads as well. The only reason I left that company was because management read one of my messages (telling her that since working for her, I was as happy as I had ever been since I started trucking and hoped it kept going this way) 2 weeks later I was moved to a rookie dispatcher that didn't know his head from a hole in the ground, and my miles dropped by a third.
