25 % gross.
If they don’t break a bunch of junk, 28% in 3 months.
This is if it’s not a 1099.

 

So you're hiring somebody with their own truck? Shouldn't that percentage be up in the 80s?

Or are you misclassifying and employee as a contractor?

 

I think it's the latter. Him saying he wanted to add on another truck could also imply buying a truck and finding a driver.

 

I don't like 1099 positions, but everyone has a different situation. Someone whose spouse has excellent insurance might prefer it.

There's lots of dispute, but many look at it as "do you own the tools of your trade, and can you bring them freely to some other job?" as the indicator of a true contractor.
