I have an old Estwing claw hammer next to my seat, and if the crap really hits the fan, or Jehovah Witnesses show up, I've got an XDM .45 under my pillow.

used to keep a short crowbar handy as a tire thumper/head banger.

    steak knife in sleeper.

never needed any of those ,but did use my Stanley thermos a couple of times to eject scum from the steps. it used to rest in the fire extinguisher holder F/L had by the seat on rt hand side.

I carry a knife and pepper spray on my keys that I test regularly. In the unlikely event you actually get jumped/mugged you'll be lucky if you get the chance to grab something out of your pocket, much less a weapon sitting behind your seat in the cab.

Hatchet's OK if you stop chopping as soon as he is dead. Desecrating a
body is an additional offense. Never heard of any stipulation on weapon
type when clearly used in self defense. May be prohibited by company policy. But if you are alive, you can argue about it. If not, its a moot point.

A tire thumper like the one pictured( the typical round wooden kind) makes a fairly high pitched (key of A- a good country key) on a typical skull. If you hit someone and get an E , you better keep hitting them.

Tell them your broke, I keep my money hidden in the truck since it ends up being the trucks money, if they want, show them your empty wallet, then when they go to leave, ask to borrow a dollar.

Like others have said, situational awareness and listening to your gut are probably going to be your best bets most of the time.

There's that rare situation where someone runs up and sticks a gun in your face, then a tire thumper and hornet spray aren't going to do you much good.

But that chances of that happening are probably about the same as having a parachute not open up. Which is a very small chance. Most people still jump out of plans, and your risks of dying in a crash are still greater.

I understand the question though, especially with everything that's going on. If you want to look into a concealed carry license, Texas has a good one, and it's recognized legal in most states.

Shall not be infringed. The universal carry permit should be the 2A.
