I was at the flying hook outside KCK a ways a couple weeks back. When I went in to eat there was a purple Pete bobtail sitting at one of the fuel islands. When I came back out truck was still there. Went to bed, woke up next morning and drove on. Few miles down the road passed a rest area. That purple Pete was parked in that rest area.
Still unable to figure that one out. -
Dave_in_AZ, back street slider and jimbo47 Thank this.

They call it a service station. So I pull into the fuel aisle and get fully served up with: food, coffee, maybe a scratch ticket, a movie..maybe I’ll take a shower, take a dump, wash up, #### chat at the coffee counter. Do the rounds. Then when I’m finally done inside I slowly waddle on back out to begin the long process of getting fuel. No hurry, it takes a long time to figure out the keypad. After Im done with fuel, I begin cleaning all the windows, mirrors, headlamps, etc... not done yet, then I take the squeegee and use it like a car wash. It’s amazing how clean you can get a truck with one little squeegee! Get the 5th wheel grease off the best I can. Check tires.
Finally, its break time after all that hard work. So I now relax and eat my subway meatball sub while in the fuel aisle too. Takes a while to eat those. I love the full service of a fuel aisle, like a looong break. I wish I could never leave.Bakerman, Kyle G. and back street slider Thank this. -
It's going to be a hot summer. Drivers like to pull under the canopy with their A/C blasting in the shade, gives them an extra cool feeling. They have to sit in the drivers seat mashing on the go pedal to prevent the 5 minute idle countdown from starting, so they sit there 30 minutes off duty in the shade.

I wear flip flops so when I’m driving I can easily put one foot up on the dash. Try doing that with movement-limited “work boots”.. no way.

I see drivers putting the pump nozzles into the tank like they're fueling , and then go take a shower constantly on I-80 in Nebraska .
Same 80mph volvos with their high beams on, same eastern Europeans/Russians, always out of some suburb of Chicagoland .Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
