you would be surprised at the number of people who don't know you have to have the main pump turned on to make the satellite pump work.i order 8 foot hoses and they send me 6 foot.

I am saying you are a 14 year driver. He said a newbie mistake.. Which brings me to ask why does a 14 year driver try to stretch a 6 foot hose to both tanks?:biggrin_2559:

LOL! Touche! No matter how hard I pulled on that hose, it would NOT stretch to the other side....broke quite a sweat trying though......................I'M KIDDING!!:biggrin_25523:

Unfortunately, I'm a 14 yr LOCAL driver which means I've always filled up at the shop and didn't have to deal with fueling up at truckstops, hence my thinking of "WTF" when I pulled in the truckstop and saw the 6' hose. :biggrin_2554:

I too have noticed lately the hoses are being replaced with shorter ones at the pumps. I think it is for the reason already stated, truck drivers don't move the loop out of the lane when they are done, and the next truck rolls in and runs over the hose.

What really sucks is to go somewhere they don't have the satellite pumps and still have the long hose, Using that setup without the problems of rubbing the hose on the hood when pulling it across takes practice.

Another place where I do fuel, I just pull up nose in towards the pump and fill both sides by walking it around the front, but the set forward tanks on the trucks we drive allow for that.

Otherwise just fill the one, and the tanks will even out eventually. again with the trucks we drive here.

The filler is under the middle of the door on the trucks I drive, plus those long hoses have the tensioners on them that may or may not work. I don't get on catwalks carrying anything not in a pocket, falls aren't fun anymore.:biggrin_25521:

Long hoses with the hanger tensioner, I haven't seen one since the last time at Worthington, MN. BP or Shell, take your pick.

Pulling up so I can stay on the ground without reaching a hose under a truck works better for me, too. I used to do the under the truck thing too, until I wised up.
