    Oh.. hmm..
    I know!
Get a photo of you at distance running away, arms up, mouth open as if screaming while looking back, then tape that to the window infront of the lense..

I just learned that Swift's in truck cameras do record audio from inside the cab. They may not have driver facing cameras, but they do record driver audio. That's pretty awful.

People who don't drive for Swift won't know it. I figure there are probably more people who read these forums than people who post on them so I wanted to put the information out there. In fairness, if I had known this I wouldn't be onboarding with Swift. I would have picked a company that doesn't record driver audio. I finished my orientation yesterday so at this point I'll probably still give them a shot, but I'm definitely not very enthusiastic about it anymore.

It is simply general audio, so don't get in a huff about it.
The audio comes from any camera in the truck, whether you or the company installs it.
Granted, you might have the option of turning it off with your own camera system.

A lot can happen in any incident and having audio can help. It can even help the driver.

Most companies that don't have driver facing cameras don't record in cab audio. Schneider even advertises that they don't record in-cab audio. Saying that any camera system will record in-cab audio is incorrect.

Saying that the audio can help the driver is not only factual incorrect it ignores the costs associated with it. Not only is audio WAY more likely to hurt a driver, even in a case where the driver is not at fault, but it wouldn't even be worth it if it could help. The price paid by the driver is way too high.

If you want more information on why this is so horrible for the driver, watch this video. It contains an in-depth explanation of why recording in-cab audio is incredibly, inarguably, and inexcusably awful for the driver:

That is, until somebody happens to hear some manner of politically incorrect language. Then the knives will come out.
