Not nearly as nice of a creature comfort as that big bunk you ride around in

That’s my next order of business

Well - you can't haul heavy, never back it into docks, can't park at truck stops, and never make any money -

But at least you have a place to live.

    Or so I'm told.

    @BeHereNow97 -

That was the part about ODFL I liked - breakdowns, once called in, were clocked at $25/hour. Fuel and drop and hooks at $5/piece - truck dropped at home base and off we went - our biggest aggravation was having to swap out our stuff to a different truck.

This is why we quickly left OTR trucking for LTL.

I'm here at the truck stop for the night and just walked outside and looked at my front bumper. So I have the license plate on the bottom of the bumper and then directly above that, yes there is a black plastic cover. I clean that cover off when it snows or ice or whatever because that will mess up the cruise control radar too, but this this repeated fault light that I keep getting has nothing to do with that (the cruise has stopped working under clear conditions EVERY single time).

Dumb question - I thought the black cover wasn't a cover, but was part of the radar itself? With my reasoning being that it looks the same as a computer screen so that black cover must be the outer part of the radar.

So what you're saying is that it's actually only a cover and that the radar itself is behind that cover?

If I understand you correctly, then what happened when you removed yours? Does the rain and snow and debris and all that not mess up your radar, especially since maybe removing the cover will expose any wirings that the radar has behind the cover?

And were you getting the same Adaptive Cruise Fault that I keep getting or were you getting different faults that were still messing up your cruise control?

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

It's not a optimal solution but a temporary fix till you can have it dealt with.
It's what we used before a throttle lock which was before cruise.

We’ve talked a few times on the phone and you of all people know you don’t always need to hit that “max” weight capacity to make $$$$

Most of my loads. And ones that pay are the lighter ones
Save that 80k for the Megas
Or in your case that 120k stuff
Aren’t you set up for heavy haul?

    blairandgretchen Thanks this.

    Remove it
It’s just a “ pretty my truck thing “ Peterbilt does
I was having many issue and it was going off in the rain. Slamming the brakes etc

I called the VP and he said try removing that cover
I pulled over. Pulled it off and no issues
That was about 150k miles ago

Two out of three of our trucks don't have cruise, but they never throw a code!

The other truck brands don’t use the cover
    It’s a Peterbilt thing

I think the distance between the radar and the cover is the issue

If my radar ices up then the system will shut off meaning that the cruise and all that stops but it recognizes that there an obstruction which is what it’s supposed to do
