Thanks for the info, they have made a good offer with the veterans bennifits. Since I'm a new driver, I will have to go to KY for orientation. Hopefully I will just need to do the mentoring for the 3 weeks or so, then start solo.

Sounds great, hope it works out like that, the sooner you’re on the road by yourself the better. Stay in touch and best of luck Warrior.

He'll have to go too Kentucky being new. And, they are sending people to local sites where they live for drug testing now prior to orientation.

Manchu, gettin ready to rental car into Ky to start a new career with PTL. had my CDL for a year, had to relocate to east of the Miss to find a job. scared witless. saw some photos of the hotel ima stay in, have no idea what to expect. looks like a good starter company at the least. had an attempt with Swift and before i got to roll out, they "let me go" for an employment gap. 2 whole months and they let me go. most likely just a typo on my application. on the street again if this one fails. dont know if i can take another week on the street. survival on the street is... not any fun. don't have the energy to do anything but work for a living. tell me i'm makin a good move, here. tell me anything other than, "get ready for another company to treat you like dirt for a week, and then toss you to the wolves."

No they will not do that the hotel is what it is I wish that they would do better. You are going as an experience driver so about three days you should be out of there if they have trucks. Been with them since May and the first couple of weeks were slow until I got the hang of things but not I running pretty good. Did you do any military time if so ask about their military appreciation program. Not a bad company like any company you may have some things you don’t like. Continue to communicate with your fleet manager to work out any differences. Let’s roll and let me know how you’re doing and if you have questions i maybe able to help you with. Congratulations and all the best driver.

They treat us like adults and are friendly knowing that we are out there busting our butts to get the job done. Before you get frustrated give me a call at (813) 344-8595 looking forward to hearing from you.

Well most drivers say leasing is a bad idea but a lot of them make it work. The only thing to do is give it try and if it doesn’t work you can always switch back to driving for the company. Make sure you have your finances in check if not it’s a recipe for failure. Just my two cents. On this site is ask a owner operator and they will provide you with more information. Good luck
