Thanks for the info, they have made a good offer with the veterans bennifits. Since I'm a new driver, I will have to go to KY for orientation. Hopefully I will just need to do the mentoring for the 3 weeks or so, then start solo.

Manchu, gettin ready to rental car into Ky to start a new career with PTL. had my CDL for a year, had to relocate to east of the Miss to find a job. scared witless. saw some photos of the hotel ima stay in, have no idea what to expect. looks like a good starter company at the least. had an attempt with Swift and before i got to roll out, they "let me go" for an employment gap. 2 whole months and they let me go. most likely just a typo on my application. on the street again if this one fails. dont know if i can take another week on the street. survival on the street is... not any fun. don't have the energy to do anything but work for a living. tell me i'm makin a good move, here. tell me anything other than, "get ready for another company to treat you like dirt for a week, and then toss you to the wolves."

So I have a question me and my wife and my dad was looking to get our cdl through swift and drive for them with leasing the truck any opinions on if it's a smart idea just starting out or anything just looking for some ideas that we should do let me know plz
Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Well most drivers say leasing is a bad idea but a lot of them make it work. The only thing to do is give it try and if it doesn’t work you can always switch back to driving for the company. Make sure you have your finances in check if not it’s a recipe for failure. Just my two cents. On this site is ask a owner operator and they will provide you with more information. Good luck
