Where Are You Continues, Again.....

@RedForeman . I readily agree on the road side repairs to get off the road but I would expect better when they are told exactly what is wrong and and it's in a truck stop safety parked.

 

Delivered 8 today. Harriman then Port Chester NY. Left the house this morning made both stops and made it back home with 17 minutes to spare on ye olde baby sitter. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal....but on a Friday?! I'd rather be lucky than good any day!!

 

Flagstaff. Gonna take a couple days off and hide out. Bad when your wife says go hide so you can do something for you lol. Prolly a Bakersfield early Tuesday

 

Bakersfield.... California???!!! Didn't think your hood would point that way!!! Must be throwin'some green your way!!! Lol!!

 

I get these notions from time to time when I can't get any peace at home. I got too many projects that ain't mine and I can't get to mine and it gets me the red ### lol. So I disappear till they give me up and then sneak back in unannounced.

 

I agree... My boss had the pictures that I sent him and he forwarded to the repair guy... But repair guy said he didn't have the part when he arrived... I would have looked for someone else but my boss told him to go to Love's nearby and get the part... cause they had it.... Love's was less than a mile away but still... it took the guy over one hr to come back.... and the part he got didn't look to be new... I didn't have a good gut feeling about the repair guy since the beginning...

 

So.... delivered a load last Thursday about 9 miles from where I rent parking for my vehicle and the truck. And since my dispatchers didn't have another short trip for me, I parked the truck and logged out.... Officially taking "hotel time" now....
Loaded my vehicle with all the stuff that I bring to the hotel... clothes, bags of food, cooler, pots, cookware, folders with paperwork, miscellaneous, laundry, this and that.... The same ritual every time I take "hotel time"...
My hometime hotel is about 2 mins from where I rent truck parking....
And this is my room for now...



Sometimes they give me two beds... this time that wasn't available... but I always bring a little coffee table from the storage, among other things and make the room a nice "home" for the week I stay here...

 

And I decided this "hometime" I wanted to eat and EAT and EAT.... till I couldn't eat anymore.... Cause I starve a lot when I am in the truck.... not able to eat what I want when I want.... so I dream about all the food that I will eat during "hometime"....
One of the things I wanted to try, was the gnocchi from Olive Garden restaurant... so, the first thing I did after I took my stuff to the hotel, was to go to that restaurant and order that... it came with some salad... I also wanted cannelloni and spinach lasagna... but they didn't have those....
The gnocchi was faaaar from what my mom used to make... their sauce is not tomato but something else... not even close to what I wanted... But anyway.... I had a nice meal in the hotel...


Still... want a nice spinach lasagna.... gotta find it somewhere before I go back to the truck....
Have also been preparing juices in my room... with fresh fruits and shakes.... I LOVE THOSE....
Wish theses drinks were available at truck stops and snack bars... 1000 times healthier than sodas and artificial drinks...

This was a mixture of orange, pineapple and lime... and ice.... no sugar.... hmmmmmmm



And this one... melon, strawberry and ice.... no sugar...



Next... will be some plum with milk and banana... with no sugar.

 

The moon is full tonight.... nice weather....


A lady friend of mine invited me to go to the lake tomorrow afternoon... I may go... but not sure yet....

 

And I decided to stay in my room today... organizing some paperwork, doing stuff in my computer, cooking, preparing myself for the week ahead and doing other things... Not in the mood to go to the lake....
