Carhartt with Under Armor cold gear I think they call it underneath.
For my feet I settled in on Under Armor hunting boots. They are bigger than a work boot, but not as bulky as say a pack boot. Kind of in between is what I'd call them.
Having been born and raised in what's left of upstate NY I've seen my share of winter and tried all sorts of gear. That's what works for me anyway.

--><-- this close to a food coma from the chicken parmigiana special at Sassy's in Kill Buck NY.
I have a set of brand new 7 yr old chains in my truck, so maybe not the authority on such things. I would tend to agree with @Feedman. Get some good waterproof pull on boots and some quality rain gear. Quick to get in/out of, cuts the wind, and not enough to get sweaty working in them.
I have a decent North Face winter jacket that is probably a little on the warm side, but cuts the wind really well and been fine down to -10ºF for dog walking. When I have to touch my cargo at a frozen warehouse, just a sweatshirt and a hat for that reason. The jacket would be too hot for working, even in a freezer.
I buy my Carhartt pants on Amazon. No stores that carry them in the southeast have learned inventory control, so usually they either don't have what I want, or don't have my size. Most of the year I wear the B151 style. They're light and probably the most durable khaki style I've ever had. I wear the B11 style in the winter. If it's above freezing much, the B11's are too thick IMO. I have two pairs that will probably outlive me.chopper103in, BigBob410, Tall Mike and 5 others Thank this. -

You will find in the fall that Home Depot carries quite a bit of Carhartt. I got a jacket from them for $30. Times change, that same jacket is now $90

Yes sir! Not anywhere I'd want to be when the street lights come on!
@otterinthewater Go with layers! I work outside year round and load my own freight. My winter gear is good socks, Redwing lightly insulated water proof boots, Under Armour leggings and base layer top. And a good cap. All the heavy insulated bibs and jackets and rain coats just make you sweat alot and unable to move well.chopper103in, SAR, Rocks and 4 others Thank this. -
@Tall Mike did you survive? 'bout time for the shootin' gallery to get warmed up! I hope you got out!

Thanks everyone for the responses! I want a hi-vis set for when I’m stuck on the 80 again chaining. My snowboard gear is mostly black and while almost warm enough...I want to be sure when I get snowed in I’m all good. My snowboard stuff is all Patagonia with all the wicking and waterproof but it’s just shells and chenille undergarments. Not nearly enough for when it was -17° and blowing 30 knots like earlier this winter. I seriously thought I was going to freeze walking to dinner at Little America. Hahahahahachopper103in, Rocks, Westbound23 and 4 others Thank this.
