    Training update:

It’s dumping snow on cove fort and blowing and snowing nicely in beaver.

The new trainee is another nice guy. Went to a non-mega trucking school. He’s in his 50’s and looking for a new career. I’m beginning to think that becoming a truck driver is the new mid-life crisis thing replacing a convertible corvette. I thought I was a bit unique. Turns out that most of the trainees going on my truck are late 30’s to early 50’s and looking to escape their former jobs.

Anyway my trainee said when it started to rain quite hard that this is his first “real” time driving anything in hard rain. When I regained consciousness from my panic black out I looked out the window and realized it went quiet...because it turned to snow. He valiantly made it the next 60 miles to our fuel stop. We got the last free legal spot. I think I might just shut down till morning. My clock doesn’t reset for another 3 hours. He’s got 3 hours left on his clock, but I’m not prepared to coach him any further through this weather till mañana. I’ll drive first in the early a.m. so he can watch...were only 240 miles from delivery and I’m going to play it safe.

Could be a guy just gets tired of dealing with the same old BS for 30+ years and looks for a fresh pile to play in.
