Looks like all the pickled foods talk turned everyone off.
Anyone around Gadsden al want to come park beside me so I can go to sleep?

Well... snowed on me from Idaho springs across vail pass and down into parachute. Thankfully it was windy as #### after that just to keep me on my toes.

    Trainee did well.

    Headed back to the yard.

And this heavy load.... :angry2: Went back to shipper Saturday at 5 am for him to rearrange a second time...
Then, went back to the scale... for the third time... and scaled this load for the 6th time... this is what I had after second rearrange...

    9.jpg

So... I moved trailer tandems one hole forward (each hole holds about 350 lbs)... So... scaled again... for the 7th time.... :biggrin_2552:

    11.jpg

That was MUCH better... almost PERFECT.... :yes2557: Since I have an APU in the tractor, I have a 400 to 500 lbs weight exemption on my drives... but NOT IN CALIFORNIA.... :angry4:
So.... since my tanks were almost full, and each quarter of fuel weights about 250 lbs... I could enter CA with maximum half tanks...
But today I decided to move my 5th wheel... ONCE AGAIN, one hole forward and get rid of that extra weight and have room for full tanks of fuel... Scaled the load for the 8th time.... :biggrin_25521:
This is the weight with 1/4 of tanks full....

    12.jpg

Now I can fill up the tanks and be legal in CA too...

    lovesthedrive Thanks this.

Yesterday I parked at this HUGE parking lot at Traveling Tiger truck stop in TX....

    5.jpg
They are kinda running down... they have lots of indian souvenirs and other stuff.... the Mexican restaurant was empty and looking at the folks behind the counter and kitchen, I didn't feel like eating anything there.... maybe my imagination... but I preferred to have my leftovers in the truck...

And for days I have been monitoring the rims and the hub seals on the both sides of the trailer... cleaning up the oily spots... So... since I am going to California, I decided to get that fixed.... don't want to meet a super DOT officer that will give me a violation for that....

So.... came to TA on I-10... last one before CA... and while I was waiting to be called by shop... did an inspection and found this... :biggrin_2554:

    7.jpg
    Had all done right there...
ABS trailer light was "misbehaving" yesterday... not today... hopefully it will be working fine during my time in CA.... :biggrin_25523:

And today I didn't need to pay for reserved parking... but when I saw this TA parking lot on Google, I didn't like any parking spot but the reserved parking... And when the shop told me it would take 4 to 5 hrs waiting... I thought that by the time they finished, I would not find a good place to park and would be out of hrs... So... I hurried up and paid for parking... company will reimburse....
But that wasn't really necessary... I didn't wait that long to be serviced and they didn't take long to fix.. and there were some good spots in some locations here....
Oh well.. now it's water over the bridge.. and I will leave at 3 am central... 1 am pacific... Here I am now..
