Hey... that Grand Canyon.. that's a great place to try the body jump.... how do they call that thing that you jump with an elastic around your hip? I forgot... I would LOVE to try glider..... forget the name right now... and don't have time to Google... that fly with a glider... One day I want to try that... :yes2557:

Hey... it's getting late... I gotta go to bed.. will finish reading tomorrow... but right now I want to post this...
So... I thought the delivery location today would be much easier than yesterday.... dispatcher said, that broker told him, I was going to be unloaded at the huge parking lot across from receiver... but instead.... receiver didn't know about it... :biggrin_25512: and this is where I was unloaded. :angry2:

    8.jpg
The big lot where I thought would be unloaded is the one across the street.... I went in there and then they told me to back the truck thru their gate so they would unload me in their yard across the street....

So... here was my view to the left...

    2.jpg
And here... my view to the right...

    5.jpg
One guy came with a "STOP" sign in hand and stopped the traffic while I backed the truck....
    Here is where they unloaded...

    1.jpg
After that... rushed to next shipper...
Traffic in San Jose, CA is awful.... :biggrin_2552:
Was reloaded... my weight this time is fine... almost 80,000 lbs total but all legal... :D
Parked at this fine truck stop on CA-99...

And you know... small companies like mine don't get the best loads.... I was told that most of those are taken by the megas... they get a package of loads because they have capacity... Our company, with 35 or so drivers and 2 dispatchers, struggles to get us good loads....

Load changed. Headed back to Colorado.

Heading into Beaver. There’s snow flurries. Looks like my luck remains. Where ever I go it rains or snows.

####ing chain law in effect on Vail Pass...

    FML

I’m in Grand Junction. Drove overnight got ahead of schedule, and then Whammy!

Going to sit here for a bit and wait for the sun to come up. Even if they don’t turn off the chain lights at least I can throw iron during the day.

LOL you should have cropped the photo. You just showed your truck color again. Grin, hugs

Wow you have a interesting perception about driving for Western. I am thinking you missed the part about "forced dispatch". There is no pick and chose. You can ask for a particular corridor when you get a truck. Tho weekend dispatch will send you places you dont want to go.

    Rocks and 062 Thank this.
