Apparently not. They lay their eggs in the fall and they start hatching toward the end of winter. Like spiders, I guess.

Nothing. But, highly unlikely unless you're in the middle of a swarm. If you took precautions to park away from trees, a swarm getting on your truck would also be unlikely.

@Rocks I'm fine, thanks for asking.

After the fiasco that was that TX run, I was looking forward to hitting Nick's Bbq in Carlisle, AR.

    It was not to be.

Got routed through Memphis TN to pick up a preload for Detroit.

Had to stop at the terminal in Cincinnati to switch trucks, because my truck needed an annual.

On to Detroit, unload and hammer down back to Cincy, arriving with 6 mins to spare.

Found I was already preplanned for a load that delivered 155 miles away, with a drop time that roughly matched the time I would be coming off my 10.

"Do your best". Delivered, took the empty to Chicago. Get to the loader with a fresh trailer at 10 am.

"We have no loader. There won't be one coming in 'til 7pm.

Got the load, finally, ran behind the 8-ball all the way to Atlantaville, although I did get to hit Shan's buffet in Monteagle.

Got to the drop 15 mins early, got it off and got gone.

Got to Knoxville yesterday with 3 hrs left on my 70. I need 5 to get to the next stop, Dayton, OH. I picked up 53 MINUTES at midnight.

So it looks like my first "road reset" here in Knoxville. At least I'll have time to do laundry.

Sorry for the long post. Just wanted to tell the whole story.

I know for many of you, it's like this every week. But for THIS old, fat tanker yanker, this week has been too much like actual WORK!!

I don't run CA. But don't they already have ag inspection stations? I just figured they did, to protect the citrus crops.

The inspection station that Calif had back in 1985 on the Nevada border looked like a tollbooth with squad cars of state troopers.
    They had a standard script.
Sir, did you purchase any fruit in Nevada.
Sir, do you have any fruit with you now.
Sir, would you like some reading material about the fruit fly quarantine for the area you are entering. Gives it to you regardless of answer.

Well, dispatch wants me to roll north and take my 34 at home.

Doesn't make sense to me, but "Mongo only pawn in great game."

    Clock's ticking.......driver gotta go.

On the right side of the country, the only ag stations I'm aware of are Florida. You pull up to the window, if the reefer is set below freezing or turned off they usually just wave you thru. Otherwise they might ask what you got in the wagon. Certain products from some places, you may have to show bug certificates that would be included in your bills.

One that comes to mind was some flower plants from Texas. They wanted to look at my bills but did not break the seal for an inspection of the product.

Loaded in a Springfield, Oregon this morning headed for Lebec, CA. Then came a mess of messages and it turned into a T-Call near Sacto and then after I deliver I go back up to Portland.

Any of you running the PNW down to The great state of California are probably as flabbergasted as I am at all the flowers and beauty of spring. All that rain and snow does the foliage good.
