I hate traffic leaving LA in the afternoon....
Was loaded... and again.... too heavy on my drives.... moved rear axle all the way to the front and was still 400lbs extra on my drives which is a violation in CA... had to move the 5th wheel to get legal.... Oh.. I have become an expert on that...
Had only 1/4 of full tanks... then, I put 50 gals and will fuel again in AZ so even if I am over 34000 on my drives, that's ok cause I have an exemption for the APU.... I can fill the tanks and don't need to worry.... will run 380 miles before next scale house....
Now I am parked on the dirt, on a rest area in Cactus City, CA....
Y'all have a good evening, night, day....lovesthedrive, homeskillet, MagnumaMoose and 1 other person Thank this. -
Delivered in Fresno. Deadheading back to Sparks Nevada to load and then heading back to Troutdale Oregon.
Western has been doing a great job getting new business while keeping current accounts happy. I keep hearing some other mega-company drivers saying they're short on freight. Maybe it’s true maybe it’s just drivers complaining. Regardless I’m stoked.
Training update:
New trainee is a second chance driver. For the life of me I can’t understand why he’s in my truck. I think he had a bad day with a ####ty mega. Anyway. He’s running close to 550-600 miles a day. We’re at almost 3000 miles already for the week and it’s only Wednesday afternoon. Sooo stoked. Kinda feel bad for him getting ####ty training pay. I guess this guy will make up for some of the others trainees. I gave him some mileage goals and if he reaches those it activates a bonus program I designed for him.
His first day he did 550 miles and then backed into a dark hole in a truck he hadn’t backed up yet, and in a yard he’s never been before. His experience shows. I know what I wrote above is nothing for any of you experienced drivers or me for that matter, but when working with trainees you just never know. -
Unloaded early, headed back east.
Duke's on I-30, X147. (Texas)
Had Cotton Belt BBQ for lunch.
Paid for a space in this nice big lot to avoid getting nearly blocked in at the craphole Love's across the highway. Not that THAT'S ever happened before!

@Zoltan1a
He’s burning through his hours. If we can avoid breakdowns and such I’m confident you’ll be getting on my truck in 3 weeks or less.
Then the fun begins. Muhahahahaha!!Rocks, Feedman and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
