Parked at this small truck stop on I-15 UT earlier today... they are going under remodeling....
After a couple hrs, hit the road.... went up those mountains...
Still snow on some high elevations around there...
And then, hit some narrow roads...
And crossed the border to ID...

Forgot this one... a panoramic view of that truck stop in UT...
lovesthedrive and MagnumaMoose Thank this. -
Random pictures of the road here and there this past week...
That's what I call open horizon.... not one vehicle out there.... can't remember where I was though...
This one I think was in NM...
And then, leaving NM and entering CO...
And another beautiful view of the road... some weeks ago... going west somewhere... maybe AZ...
homeskillet, 7-UP, lovesthedrive and 2 others Thank this. -
Saved these pictures to post here when I was at those locations but didn't have time... now here they are...
Parked at a Chisum truck stop in Roswell, NM this past weekend...
Parked at this Pilot in Carrizo Springs, TX a few days ago....
Many oil fields in that area, sandbox hauling and things like that...Last edited: May 27, 2019

After truck was washed.... guys did a great job... unfortunately they broke the hood mirror.... but the wash was the best the truck has received in years...

Thought this was interesting... the other day... Peoplenet routed me thru Mexico to go from Laredo to UT... I knew there was something "wrong" with the names of the streets.... Good thing I do my planning in advance and pick my own routing... Had I blinded followed Peoplenet, might have ended up "lost" somewhere in Mexico...

And another thing I found "interesting" to post here... several days ago, near Washington DC... the traffic was horrendous... I was "entrapped" in the middle.. there was no escape no matter which way I tried to go...
Accidents after accidents... and I had to leave DC during rush hr and go thru that... on I-95 bumper to bumper all the way to VA.... OHHHH the humanity....
I don't understand how so many people can go thru that every freakin day...homeskillet, 7-UP, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this. -
And then, last week... the problems I had with this trailer... I called it "the curse of the trailer"...
one darn thing after another.... First it was one bad tired... then the leak on the wheel seal, then the water leaking inside the trailer (thankfully it didn't cause any damage to the load)... and then another bad tire last week...
Good thing I caught it in time... before a blow out....
Stopped at FJ in AZ and they took 45 mins to replace it...
I was so happy, parked at a nice Petro in Deming, NM... got a great spot...
They have a gym room I was thinking about trying...
And then, during my post trip, I found this...
Another freakin recap gone bad on the trailer... on the same freakin day!Last edited: May 27, 2019

Had to get that replaced as well... on the same day... I already had one bad tire under the trailer... so, I put the second one on the catwalk... but laid it flat cause didn't want the tire to scratch the back of the tractor and/or cause any damage to the power cable connection and other parts on the back wall of the tractor...
All these repairs and night driving were driving me insane...
However, that tire on the catwalk was causing some problems....
First with the weight... my steer and drive axle were already on their limits... even with the rear axle all the way to the front... and the 5th wheel on the 5th hole from the front... and I had to keep no more than half tank of fuel....
The tire on the catwalk would force me to keep no more than 1/4 of full tanks to keep my weight legal..
Then, there was a problem with those air lines and power cord touching the tire....specially when I turned to the left...
The tire was being pushed from one side to the other every time I made turns... I had to check on that every time I stopped.... what a pain...
My company wants the bad tires... but this one had to go.... DSP gave me another heavy heavy reload from Laredo to UT and I told them I wasn't going to keep stopping every few miles to fuel 50 gallons and keep monitoring that tire...
So... they told me to get rid of it.... and refunded the $10.00 I paid shop for disposal...Last edited: May 27, 2019
