I cook 3 course meals in the truck so lots of food and ingredients Cutting back on perishable food now that it is warming.
Than there is stripping the bed. Gathering g up all the bags of dirty Landry in the side boxes. Grab the 12 empty water jugs.
Empty the trash. Empty the pee bottles and rinse. Give the truck a wipe down inside before I leave and most important put a seat cover on my legacy drivers seat.
The shop guys bring my truck in for a pm and come out of other filthy trucks not to mention the hunks of grease they bring with them from doing pms. -
I just bought a beautiful condition older Chevy van with a Explorer high top conversion.
Broke my heart to rip the rear couch out being this thing is so Cherry
I bought a foldable mattress and am currently building it out. I would have loved to buy a small Motorhome but I like the idea of being able to Stealth camp in my Passenger van
It will be my home away from home. Debating installing a propane frig / freezer in it.Feedman, Rocks and otterinthewater Thank this. -

I have been living in trucks since 2008... taking "hometime" in hotels near my storage since then about 4 times per year... it takes me about 2 hrs to move stuff out of the truck... more than half a day to get everything kinda "organized" in the hotel room.... Then, going back to the truck doesn't take that long... but still, have to take stuff back to the storage the evening before I go back into the truck and then, put stuff back in the truck... I do some on the day before and the rest on the day I go back in the truck...
Nowadays I would prefer not to take any "hometime".... so tired of this moving in and out....
Besides, not having anybody, anywhere... My main reason to take time off is to check my mail, renew my vehicle registration (once a year), see doctors (sometimes), refill my "pantry" with some food that I can't find at Walmarts on the road, and take care of some personal matters....
What I like about time off is the FREEDOM! Not to have that freakin elog controling every minute of my life... the freedom to go where I want, when I want.... in a car... But even though I spend one week off the truck, it's still rush rush rush... so that I can do everything that I decide to do... one week goes fast... That's when I wish I were an O/O.... but not sure I would succeed being one...tommymonza Thanks this. -
Oh yeah... forgot this picture.... that's what I plan on doing tonight again before I go to bed...
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
Another thing I really like when I am off the truck is to EAT EAT and EAT...
Cause I starve a lot in the truck...
I don't like to stop to have a real meal... I drive sometimes dreaming about this and that food....I cook in the truck because can't find what I eat out on the road... but my time is very limited... and can't eat in the truck as well as I used to when I was living in a house with time and a kitchen....
Well... time to go eat something here and then soak in the tub....Last edited: Jun 6, 2019
