No problem and for sure no offense taken, heck I used to go south of the border myself once in a while. I had quite a few friends down there I worked with over the years.

I huge part of the population in Alaska is not native to Alaska.
You would be surprised how many truckers I ran into up here that I had actually met outside.
The first year I ran north, there was a driver that hauling mud, that I had met at the petro in Elpaso, years before, at that time he was married to a mexican gal and living in juarez, because the cost of living was much cheaper than on our side. lol
It turned out he was a native Alaskan.

Very good.... the training you received at the CDL school? If that is one of those 3 weeks program... they teach almost nothing... just enough to pass the test.... The company has interest in training drivers that will do a good job for them.
Yeah... all they are doing, hotel, breakfast, fuel to get there, an initial bonus/ advance is pretty much "standard" on most companies like them. Glad you are enjoying everything so far.... Hope that works out very well for you..... :biggrin_25519:

Rushing again to go to bed... gotta get up at 1 am... finishing my supper now...
Parked now at a new Love's in KS.... I normally "never" park at Love's because they don't have good parking spots.... but this one is not too bad and the spot I got is definitely wide.... and there's a lot of room in front of me... :D

Alaska is mainly oil country, it has been said that Texans built Alaska, but that isn't totally true, we had some help from Okies and tennesseans lol
Lots of texans here left over from the pipeline days, plus lots more came later like I did.
I have several driver friends that come up and work summers in gravel season then go home and take winters off.

Rocks, 062 and dwells40 Thank this.
