I don’t remember who I was talking to about the “Walker Lane”. Anyway certain geologist are saying that the San Andreas fault is “knotted” and unlikely to have a major temblor. The Walker Lane runs down the 395 and was being predicted to be the location of the next large quake. It appears from the initial reports that that’s what happened. They also predict that it will eventually open up and the “south Reno sea” will form. At this point contrary to the uniformed that say California will “fall” into the sea California will continue to slide up the plate and will eventually be next to Seattle.

I could be wrong or misinformed.

I think you’ll enjoy this. It’s not a peer reviewed journal, but interesting none the less.

    Feedman Thanks this.

It’s not like much can be done. It could occur tomorrow or a million years from now, nobody knows

When it's going to happen is problematic. But I'll bet a beer that it happens in the next couple of centuries. So lets see.... on the Hayward Fault, to mitigate damages...

Last I checked that fault ran through the UC Berkley Stadium, Within a couple of blocks of (if not under) 2 or 3 Hospitals. Same with other emergency service providers (police and fire). That stuff could be relocated away from the fault. Then stop building on top of it. Turn that thing into a 50 mile long urban trail and skate park.

Of course we all know intelligence and urban planning are mutually exclusive....

Only had two picks today. Don’t feel like fighting Charlotte traffic so going to get up before the chickens, and head down.
