I am not sure what you guys are talking about, but by the sounds of it, I tend to think I would have helped him work on something, and nerves is not the first thing that comes to mind. lol

Rocks, that isn't the old truckstop, I want to say citgo, at alvord. The one if you are headed north, you have to basically flip a u to get too.
The place is familiar, and I know for sure I have been there, as back in the 90's I was on 287 4 06 times a week for a while, then off and own for a lot of years. lol
I never lived in Dallas, but did do a lot of business there. -
And the other day... while entering a driveway to the customer.... the driveway ramp was in a slight incline and the curb of the street was sunken... and the front corner of the trailer hit the top of the APU box....
This is the second time something like that happens.... That's poor truck design....
The trailer is not all the way to the front and not all the way to the back... but somehow, when truck turns to the left, or to the right while going up or down, the front corner of the trailer hits the top of the the APU box (on the right side) when tractor turns to the right... or the top of the quart fender (on the left side) when tractor turns to the left...
This is the ramp I went up when that happened...
The curb at the entrance was sunken and the driveway was a slight incline.... I heard a metallic noise as I was entering the driveway...
And then, while backing to the dock, I heard the same noise again... the ground was not leveled... it had its ups and downs... I parked next to those trailers (right corner of picture) and had to really jacknife to back to dock # 9 (left of picture).... and the ground was up and down... Can't see much on the picture...
This is a view from the other side.... the ground was high where I first parked and it went down going to the dock...
Sent pictures to my company... they said a few other drivers had the same happening to them... They don't consider this an incident or accident... it happens... and they will have the cover of the APU replaced when truck goes to their shop....

062 Thanks this. -
I came from the North... Already passed Alvord... I am not sure if this one used to be a Texaco or Valero... old pictures on Google shows Texaco.... When I called, they said this Pilot is about 1 year or 1 year and a half old... And the building looks new inside...062 Thanks this. -
Over the years that place has changed hands several times, and they were foreigners a time or two. It has gone from nice to strictly a dump that you could not go inside and stand the smell at all, then back nice again several times. They always had plenty of parking, so I slept there some when I had to deliver in the area. It has been a few years, but new owners completely remodeled it and and the restaurant was a good place to eat, ESPECIALLY if you liked catfish. Yea I know , you aren't going there. lol
Be careful making that uey there, there is a curve, and I have seen a bad wreck there twice, involving trucks headed in there. -

I blame that on ThermoKing.... they should have installed that at the same level of the frame... not as high as they are...
