Where Are You Continues, Again.....

The thing about vegan food in a 'non vegan' environment, is MSG. Yep, I can 'smell' it in bread. We try to cut carbs, but I'm the worst. We get ours fresh baked from the amish (a HUGE bennie to vegan) up the street. I'm not 'totally' vegan by anymeans, but wife tries, and I try along with her. Since I have, I can SURE smell chemicals in processed bread.

 

It looks pretty good sir... very similar to a Brazilian one....

 

What is MSG? I am not vegan... I drink milk... I love milk... and eat dairy products... Next opportunity I have to visit an Amish farm I will buy their food products and milk... for sure.
Here in Brasil I can get to FINALLY eat the food that actually HAS TASTE.... and I am finally eating like I should... no more starvation... and hopefully I will be able to gain a couple lbs or more during this trip....

MSG is MonoSodiumGlutamate (<sp?) or something to that effect ... its a preservative, and the 1st ingredient in soy sauce. It just has a 'smell' and or taste. We eat well....try to be somewhat vegetarian, doesn't always work; not strict. The wife is AWESOME with her 'ensalada' ingredients, and then puts tuna or chicken on.... and a wheat muffin on the side, and I'm easily sated. LoL~!

I couldn't sleep last night.... was up till 5 am... from midnight till 3 am watching my dad... me and another person who came to help us out.... Then, the power went out.... sometimes that happens around here... and it's very hot.... and with no power, no fans... and the mosquitoes bother A LOT.... hard to sleep....

 

Today I walked around the blocks here.... visited a lady who used to be a housekeeper here.... this is her and her brother in her little house...


Even thought this is a small village in the middle of nowhere.... there are bandits... and they have robbed that little market a few times.... till the owner installed bars... customers have to ring the bell for him to open and let them in....


Walking on the streets around here... very tiny houses.... made with brick and cement.. some are made with clay and sticks....





This white house is what they call here "Cultural Center" and City Hall of this village... the shows that happened every evening this past week till yesterday were on the square in front of it..


Lots of trees here with coco.... one can find them everywhere...
