Where Are You Continues, Again.....

Back in Jan/1985... first Rock in Rio festival... a place was built in south Rio just for the festival.... 9 days of pure music... some of the artists were... AC/DC, Queen, Iron Maiden, The B-52's, Scorpions, Ozzy Osborne... Yes, Joe Cooker, Rod Stewart, George Benson, etc, etc, etc.... among many others and also lots of Brazilian Rock bands... Over one million people... it was a blast...
This is a mini documentary made in 2015 about the beginning of Rock in Rio... it's all in Portuguese, just skip the part where the girl interviews the lady and check out some of the famous bands and singers....


I have never gone to any.. Cause in January I was busy working/ traveling in Brasil... that is summer and vacation time in Brasil when I would be traveling to other touristic places specially in the northeast selling my art-craft and having a lot of fun somewhere else....
Along the years, this festival has incorporated many other music styles... such as electronic music (Fat Boy Slim and others), rhythm and blues, even samba, etc, etc.... Last year they had singers like Rihanna... this year they will bring Cardi B and others alike... I wonder when they will bring Nicki Minaj...

 

I saw Great White and Whitesnake back in the 80's myself.. They put on a dang good show. Never heard of that first video, wow...though~!

 

Sepultura is a great metal band IMHO.

 

You know... Sepultura will be playing on Rock in Rio on Sept/27 + Iron Maiden + Megadeth and Scorpions.... I am kinda "tempted"... but considering this is not the original Sepultura formation.... and I don't really like Megadeth.. if it only were Judas Priest or AC/DC.... not a fan or Scorpions either...
But I guess there will be other attractions.. will check it out.... Shall see...

 

I LOVE the ole' Scorpions. Megadeth, meh. (Wife does, though...go figure..) Iron Maiden, great stuff, never saw them. Yeah the 'Priest or the 'DC... that WOULD be great. Cardie B, though? Too?

Man, LOVE 'em all. Only out of THAT list I've seen is Def Leppard. Nice list, for sure. One of my FAVORITES.... thanks for the reminder~!

 

Thanks, yeah it was pretty cool, I do remember supertramp was really good,someone opened for them but shoot dont remember.....

Saw the Stones in 1989 steel wheels tour... very good too

 

And just read that Cardi B has canceled her show on Rock in Rio and her substitute will be the British singer Ellie Goulding... Cardi gave no reasons for cancelling...
