This is a panoramic view of the place...

Second step... cooking the sugar cane juice...
The stove is a hole under the ground and they burn wood...
Gotta keep cooking... and then pour that in that wooden container...
Pouring that on the concrete table for something (can't remember) and on the wooden reservoir in order to prepare the "rapadura"...
Sorry folks.. I have LOTS AND LOTS of more pictures... but I have to stop posting here.. this internet shop is about to close and I gotta leave.. will not be able to post pictures from the hotel... Will continue next time...
C y'all next time..Last edited: Sep 25, 2019

Thanks for the pictures, I do like seeing how it is done in underveloped countries, where labor is what gets it done, after all, at onee time we did it much the same here.
Crusader66, Rocks and dwells40 Thank this. -
Back at my hotel room and trying this internet again.. it seems a little better now...
Continuation... folks pour the cane juice that was cooking in the wooden reservoir and steer that and submerge a rope in there... when the liquid becomes hard on the rope, it is good and then it is time to get that out of there...
And put in the molds...
Crusader66, RedForeman, 7-UP and 2 others Thank this. -
Rapadura, the final product.. one of them that is...
Another product they make is the "alfinin" it's like rubber... it expands as you pull it... and it's extremely sweet.... the ladies gave me a little bit to taste.... See the 2 ladies holding the white thing that looks like a thick rope?
They gave little pieces of it to folks... I tasted some... it was like a very sweet candy that dissolved in my mouth...
Another product was the sugar cane juice... which they call "honey".... folks would bring big plastic bottles and have them filled up...
Crusader66, RedForeman, 7-UP and 4 others Thank this. -
