Second step... cooking the sugar cane juice...

    20190922_081520.jpg
    20190922_081719.jpg
The stove is a hole under the ground and they burn wood...

    20190922_082059.jpg
Gotta keep cooking... and then pour that in that wooden container...

Pouring that on the concrete table for something (can't remember) and on the wooden reservoir in order to prepare the "rapadura"...

Thanks for the pictures, I do like seeing how it is done in underveloped countries, where labor is what gets it done, after all, at onee time we did it much the same here.

Crusader66, Rocks and dwells40 Thank this.

Back at my hotel room and trying this internet again.. it seems a little better now...
Continuation... folks pour the cane juice that was cooking in the wooden reservoir and steer that and submerge a rope in there... when the liquid becomes hard on the rope, it is good and then it is time to get that out of there...

Rapadura, the final product.. one of them that is...

    20190922_093753.jpg

    20190922_082426.jpg
Another product they make is the "alfinin" it's like rubber... it expands as you pull it... and it's extremely sweet.... the ladies gave me a little bit to taste.... See the 2 ladies holding the white thing that looks like a thick rope?

    20190922_083807.jpg

    20190922_083905.jpg
They gave little pieces of it to folks... I tasted some... it was like a very sweet candy that dissolved in my mouth...

    20190922_083931.jpg

Another product was the sugar cane juice... which they call "honey".... folks would bring big plastic bottles and have them filled up...

Yeah... I wonder how much "easier" it can be to always know the places I go and the routes and the places to park, so forth and so on.... rather than having to always been studying the routes, consulting maps, google satellite, calling places to ask for directions, finding out about restricted routes, planning where to stop and when, etc, etc... trip after trip after trip...
