Yeah... I understand your situation. There are so many folks in this site that are going thru something similar.... I see other social threads.... super popular that keep going and going and going.... folks who are still driving and others who are not any more, etc, etc.. amazing I think...
This one has had its high times before and almost died a few times... it is still going.... but it seems to be dying again... time will tell....
I am not even driving the truck for now... come here only to "vent" a little and share my days with whoever reads this... but what I really like is when someone quotes my comments and we can chat some... or when someone shares something interesting to comment on...

Heck, I am checking in, that should be all you need. Too bad about the loss and changing stores with less rates sucks even worse. I used to have to watch what I did going through Canada, no outright theft that I was ever aware of, but when I had to use US cash and got a bad percentage, which was normal, then get my change in Canadian currency I would get hit with a double whammy, which adds up quick. I tried to keep some canadian cash for small things and just used a credit card for more expensive things, the credit cards charged what ever the exchange rate for the day of purchase.
Aside from getting scammed, has there been any progress on the other business, forward progress preferably. loRocks Thanks this. -
How is your truck doing? And how are those roads up there? Too much snow yet?
What happened with the money loss shouldn't... had I been more careful... I thought I was... but evidently I wasn't.... and this is a place one must be careful all the time.... anyway.. I am trying to let it go... and stay smart..
I still have a lot to do here... things keep moving in slow motion... had my blood taken last Tuesday and now will have to wait till end of November for the results.. and there are still 4 more that will need to take.. in the meantime, can't go back to the doctors... gotta wait...
The house, is being advertised by the real state agency in many sites as they said...
BTW.. not sure I wrote here.... that house used to be called "The Vampire's Castle" years ago.. someone even wrote that on the walls... And one day a guy tried to camp in there but got sick and left saying the house was haunted...
Anyway.. I find it a little odd that the real state agency used #666 as reference number for the add of the house on their site...
In any case, I hope that brings a real buyer right away.... maybe someone looking for a haunted house on the beach... ?Last edited: Oct 26, 2019
SL3406, dwells40, 062 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Other than that, waiting for a document from the Secretaria de Fazenda (it's a government agency) so that I can take it with me when I go to another government agency next Tuesday in Rio.. and that is just the beginning of a process.. and I hope and pray that at the end of that process, they will no charge me any taxes... shall see...
Other than that, I asked if I can remain in this hotel for one more month for the same price I paid when I moved in.. and he said "ok".. so that's good...Last edited: Oct 26, 2019

Well at least the hotel deal is staying steady, hopefully the rest settles down soon. As much travelling as you are having to do, maybe you should have kept that beetle. lol I know it would have been a pain and probably costly too to get it back on the road and legal. lol

That "beetle"..... oh no.. the roads in this country are extremely dangerous.. I would not do that.. no way...
The bus trips back and forth between here and the city of Rio cost less than if I were driving that vehicle...
Besides, "he" belongs in my dad's companion's house... she loves it.. and is taking good care of that "baby"... -
I’m hoping it’s a tire or wheel issue with the truck. Going to jack it up and see what I can find later today.Rocks and MagnumaMoose Thank this.
